| Amy's Baby
A transcript of a recent TV week article as requested. Can you believe it! In the biggest soap shock of the new year so far, vivacious Neighbour's character Amy Greenwood (played by Jacinta Stapleton, left) is pregnant!
To complicate matters even further, a question mark hangs over the identity of the father. Is it her long-suffering boyfriend Lance (Andrew Bibby, right, with Jacinta), or her fellow flight attendant Damian (John Ridley), the man Amy has been having a secret affari with?
According to Andrew, all three parties will get hurt.
"Lance has no idea Amy has been seeing Damian behind his back," he says. "He's noticed that Amy has been a bit weird towards him, but isn't suspicious.
"If anything, Lance feels that he has been neglecting Amy and he tries to be more romantic."
An off-colour Amy buys a home pregnance kit and discovers the truth.
"For obvious reasons, Amy can't tell Lance, so she tells [his sister] Anne [Brooke Satchwell] instead," Andrew reveals. "Anne's loyalties are torn - it puts her in a really difficult position."
Andrew believes the next few weeks will be compulsive viewing for fans.
"It's quite a shocking storyline," he says, "You don't hear much about sex in Neighbours, then all of a sudden a regular character gets pregnant. It's a completely unexpected development, too, which makes it all the more fun.
"Lance and Amy have had their ups and downs in the past, but nothing as serious as this. Lance loves her a great deal, so it will be interesting to see how he feels when he finds out she has been two-timing him."
