was a singer and musician in the UK before becoming a comedy and drama

Vic theatre during the 80's. Vic also appeared in Prisoner

Neighbour actor lights up Melbourne Christmas tree
Neighbours Ryan Maloney will be at City Square in
Melbourne tonight as Melbournes Christmas tree is lit up at a free
concert in the square. All the action gets under way at 7pm with
festivities over by 9pm.
All eyes on the AFI'S
On ABC tonight the AFI's will be telecast at 8.30pm. The
program is to be hosted by Magda Szubanski and Tony Squires.
Japanese story and Gettin' Square are expected to be the big winners.
There is also growing anger at the free trade agreements with the
US that threaten Australian movie and TV makers to make Australian
stories so on the eve of the AFI awards concerned people held a
rally in Melbourne.
Daniels done deal
While on summer break fromm Stingers actor Daniel Frederickson
is starring in Done Deal a play by Red Stitch actors theatre.

Daniel Cops A Ticket
Last year former Neighbours actor Daniel Mcpherson
had difficulty in getting a ticket to Britain's National Television
Awards but this year thanks to his role of Cameron Tait in The
Bill he is favourite to nab the award for Best Newcomer. The
awards are held on Tuesday 28th October 2003.
... unfortunately Daniel missed out, the award went to Nigel Harman,
Dennis Rickman in Eastenders. Daniel fans watch out for Cameron's
suprise revelation that he has a daughter, in the next episode of
The Bill (for Australian TV that is, ABC TV Tuesday 4th November
@ 8.30pm)!
Not so Predictable Delta
Delta Goodrem's next single is likely to be Predictable,
from her highly successful album Innocent Eyes, but in a
suprise move it is rumoured that this next release will also feature
a Christmas song as a 'b-side'.
Maybe more predictable is that Delta will leave Neighbours
to pursue her music career. Details of her Neighbours departure
are in this weeks TV Week (dated 1-7 Nov 2003). Unfortunately there
will be no farewell for Nina due to her having to be written out
suddenly when Delta began treatment for Hogdkin's Disease.
Delta dealt an a winning hand
Well more than enough to fill one hand! Delta Goodrem collected
7 ARIAS at the 17TH ANNUAL ARIA AWARDS run by the Annual Australian
Record Industry Association (ARIA). She won:

Scully a Sullivan
With the recent news of the actor Shane Connor (Joe Scully)
leaving Neighbours there is rumour that Andy Anderson
formerly of The Sullivans may return to his role of Joe Scully's
'look a like' brother in Neighbours.
Saint Judith's perfect record
Judith Mcgrath of All Saints is the only star of
the show to appear in all 250 episodes. This milestone episode went
to air this week (27/10/03) and also featured the other two original
cast members Georgie Parker and Martin Lynes.

Neighbours rumour Mills
TV Week (1-7 Nov 2003) reports that popular ousted Australian
idol Rob Mills is keen to try acting, he hints Neighbours
is one show he would like to be part of, that or Home & Away.
Another Australian idol contestant Brandon Burns played Drew's
brother on Neighbours in 2001.
OZsoap2003 cancelled
The previously advertised OZsoap2003 convention, which was to
feature alumni from classic Australian soaps such as The Sullivans,
Sons & Daughters and The Young Doctors, has now been
cancelled. Firefly Glass Entertainment have posted a message with

Blue Heeler has a pup?
It looks likely that Blue Heelers is about to have a spinoff.
A planned new Police drama is to star former Blue Heelers'
regular, William McInnes and the latest report is that he
will once again play his Blue Heelers character Nick Schultz.

Just after the recent management concerns of Holly Valance
and Scott Michaelson, the news that Neighbours star
Delta Goodrem is also unhappy with her manager Glenn Wheatley
has surfaced.
Delta was concerned that Wheatley was spending too much time with
John Farnham's career and not concentrating enough on her own burgeoning
career the Herald Sun reported (7th October 2003).

believed there was still 6 months to complete on his contract. The
Herald/Sun report said there would be some quick rewriting to account

Shortlived Wedded Bliss for Dee
Tonight in Neighbours (29/7/03), Jared 'Toadie' Rebecchi
(Ryan Maloney) and Dee Bliss tie the knot in a memorable
wedding ceremony. Toadie is supported by his best man, brother 'Stonefish'
and Dee's sister is a bridesmaid. Unfortunately the happiness is
shortlived as Madeliene West who plays Dee will be exiting
the show in a tragic ending. Tune in to view this special episode.

Stopwork Now
Australian actors have begun their strike action today, and many
will be attending meetings, such as one at the Malthouse (Melbourne)
this morning featuring Alan Fletcher (Neighbours).
Stingers stars Kate Kendall and Peter Phelps
were in attendance. Also today Sonia Todd (McLeod's Daughters)
and Felix Williamson appeared on the Today program
to discuss the actors issues. The strike will also include the coming
weekend.

Engaging Location
Krista Vendy recently holidayed in Tasmania with her partner
Craig Smith (former Melbourne Storm Rugby League player). While there
Craig suprised Krista with a wedding proposal and she happily accepted.
The couple plan to marry next year in another location, possibly Portugal.
LA Madeleine
Madeleine West (ex Neighbours) is about to head to
Los Angeles to meet with record companies interested in signing
her up. Her manager Ralph Carr will travel with her, but Madeleine
says what she will miss most about being out of the country, is
not being able to see her AFL football team Collingwood play.
Neighbours Nina
Neighbours scriptwriters are likely to write around Delta's
short term absence from the program and not replace her with another
actress, in the role of Nina Tucker.

Delta Goodrem

'Delta Goodrem's
family today (Friday 11th July) announced that Delta Goodrem
has been diagnosed with Hodgkin's disease, a treatable form
of cancer.
Delta's
family were told of the diagnosis following a series of tests
last week. Delta is currently undergoing treatment in a Sydney
Hospital.
In a written
statement Delta said:
"I want
to assure all my fans that I will be fine and I will be back
just as soon as my treatment is completed. Knowing that I
have your love and support is making a huge difference and
I look forward to seeing you all very soon."
Delta's
family have appealed for everyone to respect her privacy during
the treatment period. Delta said her fans would be kept up
to date on her progress through her website www.deltagoodrem.com

A shower of striking soap stars!
Actors in many Australian programs have voted to strike, the stopwork
day will take place for one day within the next 2 weeks. Over 200
actors took part in the unanimous vote (by 20 representatives from
different programs) and claim work conditions are worsening. Among
other demands they have requested that guest stars in programs be
paid AUD$684 rather than the AUD$395 they are currently paid as
the actor has to reject other work. Ten programs will be effected
including, All Saints, Always Greener, Blue Heelers, Home
and Away, McLeod's Daughters, MDA, Neighbours,
The Secret Life of Us, Stingers and new program Fire Flies.
The strike could affect schedules of shows in production and possibly
delay on-air dates.

CSI Stung US program
CSI:Miami has been won over by a Stingers script that was
Shane Brennan's application to them for the position of script
producer. Shane has been a Stingers script writer for some
years. For his application to CSI:Miami he chose a script
he had written that features Gary Sweet (in a guest role
3 years ago) as a gay criminal with a crush on Peter Phelps's
character. Shane's application was successful and he will now depart
Stingers to begin working on CSI:Miami.

Pia Miranda-ring through 'Life
Pia Miranda will return to The Secret Life of Us
in a guest role she originated earlier this year. Pia's character
Talia appeared for only one episode but won the heart of Christian
(Michael Dorman). Her return episode will air June 30th and
runs for 6 weeks at present. You may remember Pia from Neighbours
in another guest role as Toadie's girlfriend a few years ago. Since
then Pia has had film success with Looking for Alibrandi,
and Garage Days and is soon to appear in Travelling Light

Soap Strike
Today's Herald Sun (20th May 2003) newspaper reported that hit
Australian TV programs may be affected by the threat of strikes
by Australian actors who have been negotiating with the Screen Producers
Association of Australia. A one-day stoppage is possible if an agreement
is not reached. Actors are seeking better security for long running
shows, royalty for repeated programs, improved superanuation and
a pay rise for being on standby.

Tonight sadly sees the final episode of All Saints with
actor Erik Thomson who leaves the show to explore other career
options. His character Dr Mitch Stevens was involved in many of
the key storylines of the show including his wonderful ongoing romantic
storyline with co-star Georgie Parker.

Delta Deluge
Lots happening in the world of Delta Goodrem. Her second
single recently debuted at #1 on the Australia charts and at #3
in the UK where she performed on TOTP. This performance will screen
on Australia Pay TV channel UK TV on Saturday 29th of March at 7pm.
Australian fans can buy her album out today (24th March 2003) available
in a special edition featuring a bonus DVD. Delta will be appearing

remake of Stephen King's novel Salem's Lot. The production
will be made in Melbourne.
