Sons and Daughters Star This Is Your Life
On Friday Night Rowena Wallace star of Sons & Daughters and many over productions was suprised with a special This is Your Life presentation. The event was organised by fellow actor Paula Duncan who skillfully tied in the event with a fundraiser for Wesley Mission. The event procured the appearances of many of Rowena's former co-stars including those from her early days in Cop Shop. No, it is not an environmental problem, although it is World Environment Day on June 5! But, the announcement that Home And Away's Aleetza Wood will take over from Brooke Satchwell (ex-Neighbours) in the U.K. Shakespeare tour of Much Ado About Nothing and Twelth Night. Brooke has Water Rats commitments to fufill. Michael Piccirilli also from Home And Away, will play Sebastion in Twelfth Night and also has a role in Remarkable Piety Of The Infamous also in London.
From A Good Guy To A Saint
Travis McMahon (ex-Goodguys, Badguys) will take on a guest role in All Saints. Also guesting soon in All Saints is former Home and Away star Belinda Emmett. Travis's co-star on Goodguys, Badguys Marcus Graham has had a role in US program Charmed.

Those fans living in Tasmania are lucky to be still seeing repeats of Home And Away. Present storyline includes Mouche Phillips as Viv Newton. Pacific Drive fans will remember her as PJ and more recently she played Meredith in the autobiographical film Never Tell Me Never, the story of Janine Shepherd, also starring Claudia Carvan. Home And Away, The Early Years may be seen weekdays at 11 to 12 pm.

Giving the coats off their backs
Neighbours stars Ian Smith and Jansen Spencer were in Tasmania over the weekend, drumming up support for Tasmanian originated charity Enormity . The charity started by youth on the North West Coast aims to get people to donate their old coats for the Salvation Army to distribute to the needy. This is an apt charity for Ian to support as his character Harold is involved in Salvation Army work.

Sophie Heathcote, star of Water Rats, A Country Practice, and Raw FM, made an appearance on GMA this week. She will soon be seen on the ABC in a new series. Former Sons and Daughters star Normie Rowe had a busking experience in Athens, when he led a tour to the Gallipoli Anzac dawn service. Megan
For those of you who may not have heard, sadly, last week Megan Williams passed away. Megan created the much loved character of Alice Sullivan in The Sullivans, daughter of Maggie, and wife of Jim Sullivan. Megan as well as being a fine actress, winning a Logie for the mini-series Anzacs, was also an accomplished singer and musical theatre star, having among other things starred in a production of Cats. We will remember Megan's bubbly personality and the vivacity of a really beautiful person.
Penny Cook's At Logies
No, Penny is not the chef for the night but, she is creating a recipe for success for some lucky logie winners. Penny Cook, former star of A Country Practice, together with Paul Cronin (The Sullivans), will be the judge of peer awards at this years Logies. Penny appeared on Bert Newtons GMA yesterday (17/4/00). Some viewers will remember her as part of the original GMA team.
Betty Bops Up
Betty Bobbit, former Prisoner star appeared on Denise yesterday (17/4/00) talking about her pantomine Hansel And Gretel, on at The Tivoli Theatre (Malvern , Melbourne) until the 25th of May. Betty is also going to become an Australian citizen, after coming to Australia from the US in 1962 for a 6 month stay. Betty has been a scriptwriter in the past and has a novel Follies And Vices, based on fact, in production. Betty hopes there will be sequels to the novel.

Former Neighbours star Brook Satchwell is to make an appearance in Water Rats as a stalker of Steve Bisely's character.
The Follies Of A Famous Actor
As reported in a previous bubble, former Son and Daughters star Rowena Wallace joins a talented cast in Stephen Sondheim's musical Follies. The setting for Follies is in a theatre, soon to be bulldozed, to make way for a carpark. Rowena plays the character Carlotta. and sings 'I'm Still Here', which she calls 'the story of my life'. Soon Rowena will be seen in Home and Away playing Harry's mother. Other stars of Follies are, Nancy Hayes, Val Jellay, John O'May, David Rogers-Smith and Peta Toppano.
Lucinda Certainly Not Cowering
Lucinda Cowden (ex-Melanie, Neighbours) is starring in a play by Australian writer Tom McNamara called The John Wayne Principle at the Pleasance Theatre in London. Lucinda has the double role of a secretary and a socialite.
Sullivans At Home Again For Now
As mentioned in a previous bubble, the house where The Sullivans was filmed is under threat of destruction. At the moment it has been temporarily saved by the state government. Anyone concerned about saving the house, might like to write to the state government, Victoria, voicing their concerns.

John Woods (Blue Heelers) is writing a film script called Giaconda Smiles. John has previously written scripts for Cop Shop, Prisoner and The Sullivans (TV Week 15-21).

This weeks New Idea magazine features a story on Alan Fletcher (Dr Karl Kennedy, Neighbours) and his wife channel TEN news reader Jennifer Hanson who recently reaffirmed their wedding vows, a decade after their original wedding. The couple re-tied the knot to incorporate the prescence of their children Veronica and Tom.

Yes, none other than The Sullivans' dad, Dave, was the subject of a question on this Saturday's Australia Who Wants to be a Millionaire program. The question, asked to a man who had lived in Europe during the airing of The Sullivans, asked the Sullivans patriachs first name. Not being familiar with the series he took the option of asking the audience. At least 60per cent ot the audience agreed it was Dave, but surprisingly 10 per cent said Harry.

Feverish and passionate meeting for Sons and Neighbours stars
Ian Rawlings (ex-Philip, Neighbours, ex-Wayne, Sons and Daughters) recently paid a visit to Lucinda Cowden's (ex-Melanie Peason, Neighbours) UK program Soap Fever. Although the two stars did not appear on Neighbours at the same time they did both star in soap The Power and The Passion. Ian will continue making appearances in England.

The Young Doctors
This month's TV Soap magazine takes a visit to Albert Memorial Hospital, the unreal (in the coolest sense) setting for famed Aussie soap The Young Doctors. The article tells us the young doctors had it's beginnings in the November of 1976. A tentative first month saw the series waver, but it was recovered and took it's place in soap history. The article outlines the many soap stars that began their careers on the show among them Peta Toppano (ex-Prisoner), Robert Colby(ex-Paradise Beach) and Cornelia Francis (ex-Sons and Daughters and Home and Away). Former Son's and Daughters and Neighbours star Alyce Platt with her band Baker's Daughter is releasing a CD called Cowboys in the Attic Alyce is also making a return to acting, most recently in a role in the remake of the movie On The Beach. Well, actually Rowena has left our TV's in Pacific Drive as the character of Mara but she may be seen playing Pamela, Alison Carr's twin sister and prison protector of Beryl in Sons and Daughters on episodes now showing on UK TV. Rowena did such a good job in her portrayal of Katrina Ford in All Saints, look for a further guest role coming up.

Family business
Friday Jan 28 Herald sun featured a story on Cop Shop's Terry Norris and his acting family. Wife Julia Blake, and children Sarah, Jane and Dominic (the only non- acting member of the family Dominic is studying History, and what a history of acting he has in his celebrated family). Sarah will act alonside Ruth Cracknell in the collected stories a production by the Sydney Theatre Company, While Julia is starring in The Melbourne Theatre Company's production of Life after George. Another daughter Jane works for acting casters Mulliners casting, and she too has acted. Terry is of course well known for Cop Shop and Bellbird. He has also entered what some would call that other acting arena, politics. Terry and wife Julia will co-star in the film Innocence, also starring Bud Tingwell.
Home and Away changes it's tune
Home and Away has changed its image, at least the opening and closing song credits. The new song is to be sung by Sydney band The Robertson Brothers.
Kristy is on the Wright side of the law

Former Neighbour' s star Sue Jones is starring in a production of the play After George about the various women who are engaged in relationships with the afore mentioned George. Sue plays the liberated Lindsay. Julia Blake plays the women who becomes George's housewife.
